How does this even work?!

Vector uses a proprietary publisher network to reveal the identity of previously identified visitors across the web. The visitors have given express permission for their identity to be shared. We then use a variety of fingerprinting technologies to connect the dots on these identities using a variety of signals including device IDs.

What should I do when I get a notification?

Depends on your exact business, but probably connect with them on LinkedIn. No one likes being attacked by the sales rep when they walk into the store in the mall. Similarly, "I saw you on our website" won't go over well. Use our notifications as an indication of where to focus your energy, build relationships, and start some well-researches outreach activities.

Why is this free?

Because it should be. Selling is hard and companies have paid far too much money for account-level technology which is incredibly unhelpful for sellers and marketers. We've got something even cooler planned — so get in early 😎

Is this GDPR / CASL / CCPA compliant?

Yes! Our person-level identification only fires on U.S.-based IP addresses. This doesn't mean that those laws don't apply — it simply means we're compliant with them. For non-U.S. visitors, we fallback to IP-to-company enrichment (similar to Clearbit) which doesn't contain PII.
